Job Summary

This position engages in direct sales, provides technical support and mentoring of the sales team, and works with leadership to execute the overall sales strategic plan for the Medicare Dual Advantage product line. This position directly supports the sales staff by serving as our in-house Medicare sales expert. This person drives enrollment of eligible members to meet member goals and requires face-to-face meetings with potential members in individual’s homes, as well as in community meetings and outreach events. The position is a key advisor to leaders by contributing knowledge about: member and provider needs, regulatory restrictions and requirements, new opportunities, and competitive intelligence. The position also plays an integral role in supporting our mission by prioritizing member and/or prospect education and member retention activities and serves as a role model for responsible selling to a vulnerable population.

Job Duties

  • Provide technical sales support, mentoring, coaching and problem resolution for the sales team. 
  • Assist with hiring and initial and ongoing training of sales staff.
  • Assist with the development of market and competitor analysis.
  • Support the development of strategic sales plans to meet membership growth and retention goals.
  • Attend high-impact community or sales events as required to promote the Medicare Dual Advantage Plan and by extension, the organization’s brand.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders and provide education to key contacts, including key brokers, providers, social, and government agencies.
  • Attend conferences and seminars to network, present at times, and support the gathering of innovative ideas and sales approaches.
  • Help ensure adherence to regulatory processes regarding sales, outreach, and enrollment.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other departments to ensure attainment of growth targets and maximize member retention.
  • Be involved in direct sales activities for prospective members regarding programs by telephone and in person.
  • Oversee operational member enrollment activities for eligible members including eligibility screening, completion of applications and transition to enrollment department for processing.
  • Directly supervises the Medicare Account Reps.

Job Qualifications

Required Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience.

Required Experience: 

  • Six years of sales experience including 1 - 2 years of experience with Medicare sales and sales leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with dual eligible Medicare populations and Medicare Advantage/Special Needs Plan.

Required Licensure or Certification:

  • Active health insurance license for the state of WI or the ability to obtain within 3 months.

  • Communication – ability to provide information effectively with a diverse population.
  • Technological Aptitude – Ability to use general technological skills throughout daily job i.e., Email, Internet, company specified systems.
  • Managing Priorities/Deadlines – Ability to maintain schedules, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to think critically and be solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability – Ability to manage change, deal with situations as they arise and work independently or as part of a team. 
  • Teamwork – Ability to work as a team participate productively while also managing independent contributing duties and responsibilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills – Ability to work with others and relate to client(s)/member(s). Able to establish rapport and build effective relationships at various levels in a diverse setting.

Pay Range: $80,412 - $188,164 / ANNUAL
