JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
Lead financial analysis for the Iowa market, focusing on both internal and external reporting. Identify and research financial trends and opportunities to support strategic decision-making. Evaluate business opportunities, investment options, and regulatory changes, providing actionable recommendations. Gather, interpret, and assess financial data to generate forecasts and analyze revenue and cost trends. Collaborate cross-functionally to develop strategic responses to emerging trends, including advocacy for regulatory rate adjustments.
Essential Job Duties
- Support Iowa Market
- Supervise and direct Market finance staff, optimally manage team resources for timely delivery of outcomes
- Lead and guide team members on technical and business discussions
- Support Market internal monthly close process, including coordinating the month-end close with Accounting staff, performance of variance analysis and creation of reporting package deliverables
- Responsible for Financial State/Regulatory mandated reports, analysis and audits
- Develop and coordinate responses to time sensitive regulatory financial inquiries
- Manage projects spanning multiple domains
- Supports Market and Enterprise management and other team members are related to all things financially related
- Works collaboratively with other business unites to produce, manage and monitor Market departmental budgets
- Work collaboratively with Finance Analytics to explain trends and interpret analysis for other end users
- Prepare Market short-term and long-term strategic plan as per Corporate guidelines
- Oversee preparation of Market Annual Budget and Quarterly Reforecasting according to Corporate guidelines
- Coordinate the Market month-end close with Accounting staff; review all non-IBNR reserves for appropriateness monthly
- Work collaboratively with Actuarial and Medical Economics partners to evaluate correlation among various parameters impacting IBNR, including bed days and admits per 1,000, prescription drug utilization, billed dollars of inventory, and other measurable factors that may be leading indicators of the level of reserve required for a particular cell (e.g., a particular product within a state); evaluate historical performance and correlation of the various parameters measures
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of finance experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- At least 3 years management/leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, math or related field.
- Strong critical-thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong time-management skills, and ability to manage simultaneous projects and tasks to meet internal deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products, including advanced skills in Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivot tables), and applicable software program(s) proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Pay Range: $107,028 - $208,705 / ANNUAL
