Job Description

Job Summary

The Compliance Practices Oversight team serves as a liaison between the Compliance department and the Core Operations functional departments and is the go-to resource for Core Operations on potentially all compliance matters.  The Director of that team is responsible for facilitating Core Operations functional departments’ successful execution of all compliance practices such as internal/external audit participation, corrective action plans (CAPs) management, legal support requirements fulfillment, and metrics/KPI’s development and reporting. 

The qualified candidate will have a breadth of experience across both managed care operations functions and execution of compliance practices.

Position Scope (including but not limited to)

  • Internal/external audits: collect and validate data/sample/documentation requests; review preliminary findings with stakeholders and prepare/deliver responses
  • CAPs:  Work with SMEs to document the CAP; track deliverables to ensure timely completion
  • Legal support services (settlements, OAG/OIG RFI’s, TPL, litigation):  collect/validate/submit required data
  • KPI’s:  Facilitate SMEs’ accurate KPI presentation; monitor performance and issue ‘internal CAPs’ as appropriate
  • Other related duties may be assigned as needed

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Establish the strategic direction, mission, and vision for the Compliance Practices Oversight team, ensuring that Core Operations functions are enabled to achieve and maintain consistent compliance across all requirements
  • Organize and lead the team to meet or exceed Core Operations compliance objectives
  • Demonstrate facilitation, liaison, and negotiation skills to build consensus among diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrate analytical capability, including engaging others in understanding key concepts and their relationships
  • Support and motivate others across Core Operations to produce required deliverables and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to assess deliverables produced by others across Core Operations for accuracy and sufficiency, then provide effective feedback to ensure consistent quality
  • Maintain and enhance industry and company knowledge regarding the key compliance practices outlined in the Position Scope section of this document
  • Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for compliance practices in support of all Core Operations functions
  • Lead in the collection, consolidation, and communication of reporting data and metrics relative to each of the compliance practices

Job Qualifications
Required Education
BA/BS or equivalent experience


Required Experience
5+ years’ experience with managed healthcare operations

5+ years process development/improvement experience

5+ years people leadership

Analytical capability, with demonstrated ability to engage others in understanding key concepts

Demonstrated negotiation and consensus building skills

Experience with several of the key compliance practices outlined in the Position Scope section of this document


Preferred Education
Graduate studies

Preferred Experience
8+ years’ experience with managed healthcare operations

5+ years’ experience with compliance practices

Preferred License, Certification, Association
PMP, Six Sigma, or equivalent certification
